Director Satyajit Bhatkal presents Darsheel in a character that Hindi film audiences haven’t witnessed before. Though the concept is fresh, the dilapidated mansion in the film reminds you of Vishal Bhardwaj’s MAKDEE. Like I pointed out at the outset, Bhatkal has executed the film like an accomplished storyteller, but how one wished the written material was equally arresting. Besides, the film could’ve done without a few songs. Cinematography is eye-catching, while the effects are well implemented.
The story itself is quite simple and heart warming, based on the age old adage of how good always triumphs over evil, albeit with a little help from science in this case. An orphaned boy from the hills, Kunal (Darsheel), is left all alone in the big bad city after his evil uncle Deshraj (Anupam Kher) conveniently loses him in an amusement park and declares him dead in order to get his paws on Kunal’s inheritance. Saved from scruffy beggars by a vagabond named Kittu (Manjari Fadnis), Kunal finds some solace in her company and quickly settles into her temporary home, an abandoned godown storing film sets and costumes! When he finally decides to head ‘home’, unforeseeable circumstances result in Kunal making his way back to Jhumjhum Makadstrama all alone. Dejected after the villagers consider him to be a ghost, Kunal makes his way to the abandoned bhoot bangla where he encounters Magic Uncle. A spurned scientist who wants to exact revenge upon Deshraj and free the superstitious villagers from his clutches, Magic joins forces with Kunal to create Zokkomon. Over time, the superhero becomes an inspiration for all the suppressed children of the village, helping alleviate the fear of the supernatural and exposing the conniving Deshraj.

Despite it’s imperfections, On Stranger Tides is a must-see for fans of the Pirates series. Although this chapter doesn’t capture the magic of that first film that more or less turned Jack Sparrow into a movie icon, it does have some decent action, it has some sensational and rather pissed off mermaids and it has an interesting take on the elusive Fountain of Youth. I would probably have suggested to the filmmakers that they cut out the whole love story involving the mermaid and a dude named Philip, who really seemed to have no real purpose in the movie other than to make a mermaid cry. They probably could have tickled the mermaid endlessly until she cried rather than having this goofball in the movie. It is one of those futile side stories that seemed to plague the previous two movies and added to that excrutiating feeling that you sometimes get as a movie slowly passes the 2 hour and 15 minute mark. Come to think of it, I probably would have cut out the subplot with the Spaniards as well. They just seemed to pop up in the middle of nowhere at various points in the movie. We could have used less Spaniards and more Barbosa.

Zero and Stanley struggle to climb the mountain due to their lack of water and clean food. When Stanley finally reaches the Big Thumb, Zero has passed out from being very ill. Stanley uncovers groundwater and a field of onions, which the boys eat and start to gain their strength back. While they are up there, Stanley sings to Zero the lullaby he was taught, and as it just so happens that Zero is a descendant of Madame Zeroni, this finally breaks the Yelnats family's curse. Stanley proposes to Zero that they make their way back to Camp Green Lake so they can try to find Kissin' Kate's buried treasure. The boys are successful and find an old treasure chest. Before the boys are able to leave with the suitcase, they are surrounded not only by several deadly yellow-spotted lizards, but the harsh Warden, Mr. Pendanski and Mr. Sir who wait for the boys to die from a lizard's bite. The boys are saved by their massive consumption of onions, which the lizards hate the smell of, so the protection buys them enough time for a surprise visit from Stanley's attorney who arrives at Camp Green Lake with the Texas Attorney General requesting Stanley's release.
When the Warden demands the treasure chest back, Zero tells her that it has Stanley Yelnats' name on it. Kissin' Kate's treasure was actually Stanley Yelnats I's treasure (full of jewels, deeds, stocks and promissory notes), which rightfully belonged to Stanley and his parents. Stanley uses the bonds to get a new house for his family, and Zero hires a team of investigators to find his missing mother. In a final scene, Clyde Livingston, along with the Yelnats and the Zeronis celebrate the success of Stanley's father's product, named Sploosh, a foot-odor perfume. Zero's mother sings a lullaby to him, which turns out to be slightly different version of the original lullaby Madame Zeroni taught Elya Yelnats.

Roadkill (2011) | Horror Movie, DVD, & Movie Reviews
Rather than suffer the wrath of the locals who will descend upon them long before authorities can arrive, the group opts to flee the scene, having no clue as to the cycle of events which has now been set in motion.
They soon find out the Simuroc is a giant bird of prey which will stop at nothing to complete its contracted mission of revenge, and it’s at this point the pic kicks into high gear as the RV speeds through the countryside with the Roc in hot pursuit.
True to formula, a series of events impedes the group’s escape, and just when the script appears to be entering all too familiar territory with a predetermined kill order, writer Rick Suvalle does a nice job of shifting character focus so we’re never entirely sure who’s going to be the next victim and, more importantly, who’s going to survive, if anyone.
Another nice change-up is, too often, the filmmakers of these Syfy Originals rely heavily on the monster of the week, which makes them one-note; thankfully that’s not the case here as Suvalle and Roberts take the pressure off their monster by wisely keeping the gypsies a part of the story dynamic. Rather than merely serving as a vehicle by which events are set into motion, the clan gives chase throughout the flick and, at times, is far more frightening than the Simuroc. This is due entirely to the stand-out performance of Ned (Sherlock Holmes) Dennehy as the leader of the gypsy clan. He’s genuinely menacing and almost single-handedly raises the level of the film. Stephen (Stuck) Rea is solid in the small role of a local policeman who knows all too well about the Simuroc and its exploits, and Kacey (Resident Evil: Afterlife) Barnfield shows strong acting muscle as “Kate”, one half of the estranged lovers. The rest of the cast is actually pretty good for a Syfy Original, but Dennehy is sure to leave the biggest impression.
